Ting Cheung, Wong (黃庭彰) is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Binghamton University (State University of New York, SUNY), specialising in Song and Qing history, focusing on China and East Asia in the 10-19th century, memory, historical writing, trauma and emotion in the Song period (960-1279) in particular. My dissertation focuses on the memory of the Calamity of Jingkang written by the first and second generation of refugees and the later institutionalisation process of memory during the 12th to early 13th century. I have two onging studies focusing on Song eunuchs and the Qing colonial project in Yunnan frontier. I also have a previous study focused on the Hui Muslim text in the Qing Veritable Records during the High-Qing period.
